Initial point of the paper was the implementation of a Shopping Box-System (SBox), an online-based transfer-system of goods and services, closed to a company in Munich. In a cross-section approach, the impact of the SBox on the mobility-behaviour of SBox-user-households was analyzed. As the SBox was closed to the workplace, the impact affected the way to and from work. Thus, online shopping induced car-trips, in order to pick up the shopping goods from the SBox and to get them home in an easy way. The SBox was used additionally, shopping was not substituted. By shopping via the SBox, car-trips couldn’t be reduced. The substitution-hypothesis had to be abandoned.
