Ausgangspunkt der Arbeit war die Einführung einer Shopping Box-Anlage (SBox), einem online-gestützten Warentransfersystem, in der Nähe eines Unternehmens in München. In einem Querschnittsansatz wurde untersucht, welche Einflüsse die SBox auf das Mobilitätsverhalten der Haushalte der SBox–Nutzer hat. Da es sich bei der SBox um ein arbeitsplatzbezogenes System handelte, kamen die Auswirkungen insbesondere auf den Arbeitswegen zum Tragen. So induzierte der online-gestützte Einkauf Pkw-Fahrten, um die Güter von der SBox abzuholen und bequem nach Hause zu transportieren. Die SBox wurde zusätzlich genutzt, Einkäufe wurden nicht substituiert. Durch den Einkauf in der SBox ließen sich Pkw-Fahrten nicht reduzieren. Die Substitutionshypothese musste demnach verworfen werden.     «

Initial point of the paper was the implementation of a Shopping Box-System (SBox), an online-based transfer-system of goods and services, closed to a company in Munich. In a cross-section approach, the impact of the SBox on the mobility-behaviour of SBox-user-households was analyzed. As the SBox was closed to the workplace, the impact affected the way to and from work. Thus, online shopping induced car-trips, in order to pick up the shopping goods from the SBox and to get them home in an easy way. The SBox was used additionally, shopping was not substituted. By shopping via the SBox, car-trips couldn’t be reduced. The substitution-hypothesis had to be abandoned.      «
