Abstract:

Translated abstract:
Within the scope of this thesis, the lightweight design of spur gears is systematically investigated by means of laser beam melting. The material 16MnCr5 is used for the FZG type PT-C reference gear utilized. The investigated process chain includes laser beam melting, stress relief annealing, case hardening and hard finishing. At the same time, material analyzes, tensile tests and tests on tooth root bearing capacity are carried out. Subsequently, an integrative design methodology for the lightweight construction of spur gears is developed. Finally, the economic potential of laser beam melting for lightweight gears is discussed.
