The three essays in this dissertation present analyses which can contribute to the success of the German energy transition and the nuclear phase-out. The first essay discusses the most profitable turbine technology for squared wind farm settings. The second essay analyzes configurations of industrial self-supply systems and supports the investment decisions of industrial companies that seek to minimize their energy supply costs. The third essay determines the influence of industrial self-supply on the electricity system as a whole.
