Abstract:
In this thesis a numerical framework for large-eddy simulation of shock-wave/turbulent boundary-layer interactions (SWBLI) on flexible walls is developed. The original conservative immersed boundary method for representing complex geometries within the flow solver is extended for coupling with finite-element based structural solvers. Numerical studies cover weak and strong impinging SWBLI at low and high Reynolds numbers on rigid and flexible walls. Unsteady aspects of the interactions are thoroughly investigated by means of spectral analyses and modal decompositions.
