Abstract:
This work investigates the detection of social situations based on the extraction and interpretation of behavioural cues from mobile device sensors. Probability models of human interaction geometry lead to reliable results for the detection of binary social interaction, from which logical deduction and sensor fusion lead to n-ary social situations. It is furthermore shown how dynamic social situations can be recognized through co-activity detection. Both approaches are evaluated based on new mobile systems for measurements of interaction geometry and binary activity streams.
