This PhD thesis focuses on unsteady porous-media flows. The applicability of the unsteady Darcy equation is analyzed with the help of direct numerical simulations for simple unsteady flow after a step change in pressure gradient and oscillatory flows. The actual time scale can be derived from volume-averaging the balance equation of the kinetic energy. Moreover, the onset of the non-linear effects and the applicability of the unsteady Forchheimer correction term during acceleration in the non-linear regime is investigated.

Diese Dissertation konzentriert sich auf instationäre Strömungen in porösen Medien. Die Anwendbarkeit der instationären Darcy-Gleichung wird mit Hilfe Direkter Numerischer Simulationen für einfach beschleunigte und oszillierende Strömungen analysiert. Die darin vorkommende Zeitskala wird durch eine Volumenintegration der Bilanzgleichung der kinetischen Energie bestimmt. Weiterhin wird der Einsatz nichtlinearer Effekte und die Anwendbarkeit der Forchheimer-Korrektur beim Beschleunigen in den nichtlinearen Bereich untersucht.
