The chair for fml developed methods for the calculation and dimensioning of high-performance screw conveyors. These methods are verified in further experimental researches. The method for the dimensioning of vertical screw conveyors is confirmed with some measurements on vertical screw conveyors in industrial use. In the method for the dimensioning of a horizontal of low inclined screw conveyor, the speed factor is changed to the basis of the rotation speed of the screw. In former researches, the effect of the geometry of the conveyor screw could not be investigated sufficiently. To investigate this effect, a simulation model with the Discrete Element Method (DEM) is build. With the results of the experimental researches and the simulation, the method for the dimensioning of a horizontal or low inclined screw conveyor is newly formulated.
