Abstract:
A lifestyle intervention program called nutritional prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus (NUPREDM) study was initiated to elucidate the prospects of type II diabetes prevention by means of a lifestyle intervention. Baseline and follow up urine samples of the NUPREDM study were analyzed by aid of a comprehensive non-targeted metabolomics approach including DIA-ICR-FT-MS and a HILIC-MS method, which was newly developed for this purpose. Multivariate data analysis revealed discriminant urinary metabolic patterns for insulin sensitive and insulin resistant patients.
