Nach einen verheerenden Bombenangriff im Februar 1944, besonders aber nach der Kapitulation der NS-Verwaltung und der nicht durchgezogenen Entnazifizierung trieb das Stadtbauamt Trümmerräumung und Wiederaufbau voran. Grundlage war der Wirtschaftsplanentwurf (1948/51). Der Wiederaufbau Augsburgs bildete weitgehende politische Einigkeit ab. Mitte der 1950er Jahre, wurde Kritik laut, die Bürger forderten Teilhabe an städtebaulichen Prozessen ein.      «

The thesis focuses on the reconstruction of Augsburg and attaches particular attention to the socio-political and planning fundamentals. After a devastating bombing raid in February 1944, and in particular after the capitulation of the National-Socialist Administration and the incomplete denazification, the municipal planning and building control office concentrated on rubble clearance and reconstruction. The basis of this was the Economic Draft Plan (1948/51). The reconstruction of Augsburg reflected a high degree of political unanimity. Criticism was heard in the mid-1950s, when citizens demanded that they should be involved in the urban building processes.     «
