Abstract:

Translated abstract:
Reduced tree vitality is a current Problem in the north western part oft the Bavarian Forest. Thus crown assesment, soil and leaf analysis and root inventory were combined along transsects. As a result low supply of Ca, Mg, K, P and S as a consequence of long intensive forest use and „acid rain“, shoot blight and drought periodes interact at the actual decline symptoms. Forest managment with respect to nutrient supplies, regrowth with more leafwood and fertilizing may improve tree vitality.
