Subject of the project is the development of a continuous casting process for the fabrication of copper/aluminium semi-finished products. A static compound casting process is examined. It promotes the assessment of the interface character. Subsequently, the findings are transferred to a semi-continuous compound casting technique. Conclusively, continuous compound casting is investigated. The process development is accompanied by simulation studies. A structural mechanical study is carried out. The determination of the deformation behaviour provides the basis for the assessment of postprocessing of as-cast bilayer rods.
