In the framework of this publication-based dissertation, the influence of structures introduced into the graphite anodes of Li-ion batteries by laser radiation on various battery characteristics was examined. It was experimentally proven that laser structuring has a significant positive influence on the fast charging capability, the C-rate capability during discharge and the wettability with electrolyte fluid. The measured data were supported by numerical electrochemical models and further complemented by considerations regarding aspects of production technology.
