Abstract:

Translated abstract:
The supply of cold plays an increasingly important role, especially in the metropolises in warmer world regions. The cold is often provided by individual systems which often have a low efficiency. In this thesis district cooling is presented as an efficient alternative. Building on a representation of the technical possibilities, economic and organizational obstacles are edited in the further development of this technology. The great potentials for the reduction of urban climatological effects are discussed. Examples from Singapore and Munich complete the work. The topics and drafts are supported by experiences of the author from district cooling projects at the Munich municipal utilities (SWM).
