The main objective of this thesis is to propose local market design alternatives for energy communities accommodating individual decision making under uncertainty. For this purpose, it develops local market design options that enable an access economy for distributed energy resources in energy communities. In addition, it incorporates both risk and ambiguity aversion against an uncertain future event into the decision-making problem of prosumers. This thesis can inform and guide policy-makers as well as prosumers in implementing energy communities in the presence of uncertainty.
