To use coal in future IGCC power plants, ways to efficiently clean the gas from alkaline species at high temperatures are essential. On one hand characterization of condensation behavior was studied in a special tube furnace with different probes, on the other, possibilities for hot gas cleaning of NaCl and KCl with multiple alumoisilicate sorbents at temperatures up to 1000 °C were experimentally investigated.. To analyze the derived samples, AAS, ELIF and LA ICP OES technology was used among others.
