Abstract:
Considering the ubiquity of Information Technology (IT) and the ensuing need to understand its development, this thesis investigates social and methodical aspects of IT work using a multi- and mixed methods approach. We find faultlines and subgroups to be relevant social contingencies and Design Thinking apt to support innovation. We discuss Agile Software Development as a moderator of social effects and a development method. These results increase our understanding of contingencies of IT work.

Angesichts der allumfassenden Nutzung von Informationstechnik (IT) und des resultierenden Bedarfs, ihre Entwicklung zu verstehen, untersucht diese Arbeit soziale und methodische Aspekte der IT-Arbeit durch die Kombination verschiedener methodischer Ansätze. „Faultlines“ und Subgruppen zeigen sich als relevante soziale Einflüsse und „Design Thinking“ scheint geeignet, um Innovation zu unterstützen. Agile Softwareentwicklung wird als Moderator sozialer Effekte und Entwicklungsmethode diskutiert. Die Ergebnisse verbessern das Verständnis von Einflussfaktoren in der IT-Arbeit.
