Value-added telematics applications can enable patient-centered care provision as well as quality and efficiency improvements within the German public health system. Functionalities of the emerging telematics infrastructure can be flexibly integrated into telematics applications to achieve e.g. common security standards and interoperability. This work suggests a software-architecture for value-added applications and therewith presents three exemplary instantiations of the reference model, illustrating how distributed treatment processes can be implemented and deployed in a structured, easy and reliable way via the telematics infrastructure.
