- Abstract:
- This dissertation analyses the relation between the highly iconic World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York, the largely unknown hundreds of World Trade Centers existing worldwide and the World Trade Centers Association in the context of the global cultural, political and economic system since the 1970s. At the case of the Twin Towers and by elaborating elements of World Trade Centerness, it explains how and why architecture functions as a stabilising agent within the global system.

- Diese Dissertation analysiert die Beziehung zwischen den World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York, den fast unbekannten hunderten von weltweit existierenden World Trade Centers und der World Trade Centers Association im Kontext des globalen kulturellen, politischen und ökonomischen Systems seit den 1970er Jahren. Durch die Ausarbeitung von Elementen von World Trade Centerness wird erklärt, wie und warum Architektur als stabilisierendes Instrument innerhalb des globalen Systems funktioniert.
