Abstract:
Policies to stimulate innovation-driven entrepreneurship have become widely used by governments worldwide to foster long-run economic growth. Venture capital (VC) investors play an integral role in these policies, as they provide liquidity and expertise to early-stage ventures. This thesis examines different policy instruments and provides new empirical insights into their effectiveness in increasing access to VC and bringing about radical innovation.
