Auf der Basis von Anforderungen, die an Umweltqualitätszielkonzepte gestellt werden, wird eine Methodik zur Herleitung und Handhabbarmachung von Umweltqualitätszielen und Umweltstandards für eine dauerhaft-umweltgerechte Landnutzung entwickelt. Die Methodik wird anhand eines Fallbeispiels aus dem Biosphärenreservat Rhön getestet. Daneben wird anhand dieser Methodik aufgezeigt, wie man Umweltqualitätszielkonzepte evaluieren und in die Ökologische Umweltbeobachtung einbinden könnte. Die Arbeit schließt mit einer kritischen Prüfung der Methodik hinsichtlich der an sie (eingangs) gestellten Anforderungen.     «

A methodology of how to derive and how to operationalize environmental quality objectives is developed, according to a set of criteria which applies to concepts for environmental quality objectives. The methodology is tested in a case study of the Rhön biosphere reserve. In addition a way of evaluating concepts of environmental quality objectives is presented along with the possible integration in an ecosystem based environmental monitoring programme.
