Nachhaltigkeit in der Landentwicklung lässt sich als komplexes System beschreiben, das aus den Faktoren Wissenschaft, Allianzen, Kommunikation sowie Bildung besteht und in einen gesellschaftlichen und politischen Kontext eingebunden ist, der steten Änderungen unterworfen ist. Es lässt sich mit einer nichtlinearen Gleichung der genannten Faktoren vergleichen, für die es eine Vielzahl richtiger Lösungen gibt. Ausgehend von einer bundesweiten Bestandsaufnahme wird auf Basis der Wirkungsmechanismen der Chaostheorie dementsprechend ein prozesshaftes Vorgehen in Form eines Handlungsansatzes entwickelt, um nachhaltiges Handeln in der Landentwicklung zu stärken und in den Gemeinden zu verankern. Dabei nehmen Controlling und Monitoring einen wichtigen Anteil ein. Der Prozess Nachhaltigkeit wird durch die Inhalte und Instrumente einer nachhaltigen Landentwicklung ergänzt; die Aufstellung geeigneter Indikatoren erweist sich hierbei als hilfreich.     «

Sustainable land development has to be seen as a complex system consisting of the following components: sciences, alliances, communication and education which are embedded in a social and political context with permanent modifications. This system can be compared to a non-linear equation composed of the named components, which has a multiplicity of correct solutions. Starting from a qualitative survey at the land consolidation authorities in the Federal Republic of Germany and based on the mechanisms of the chaos theory a process-oriented approach has been worked out to strengthen a sustainable approach in the field of land development and to establish sustainable proceedings firmly in the communities. Within this approach controlling and monitoring are necessary instruments. The process of sustainability has to be completed with the contents and instruments of a sustainable land development. The compilation of a suitable set of indicators is helpful.     «
