Abstract:
A patient presents with multiple life-threatening anaphylaxis without a common trigger. We use this case to demonstrate the further diagnostic and therapeutic approach. Recurrent anaphylaxis together with an elevated basal serum tryptase indicate a possible systemic mastocytosis. Mastocytosis is a clonal myeloproliferative disorder characterized by an increase of mast cells in the tissue.
