- Abstract:
- This dissertation develops a concept of boundary space based on Deleuze’s ontology and Lefebvre’s theory of space production. A mapping method is established to analyse and evaluate boundary spaces with human, material and immaterial actants, using interviews, photo diaries and other materials from five residential neighbourhoods in Beijing. Reflecting on the context of Chinese housing development, it provides guidance for urban planning and policy-making.
