Abstract:: Changes are taking place in mountain regions due to global warming, drought, heavy precipitation, and intensive land use. Research into changes on a detailed scale is possible thanks to the development of automated near and remote sensing techniques. However, data acquisition, validation, and analysis are a major challenge in these areas. The 5th edition of the international Sensing Mountains 2024 Summer School brings together international early career scientists and experienced experts from engineering, geosciences, and environmental sciences. The interdisciplinary framework of the summer school creates a creative space for exchange and learning new concepts to explore the current dynamics of environmental processes in mountains. «
