Charge anxiety, triggered by unreliable public charging infrastructure, hinders electric vehicle adoption. To mitigate charge anxiety, this thesis develops algorithms that help drivers to reliably find a free charging station. Specifically, this thesis develops coordinated stochastic charging station search algorithms that yield up to 38% cost reduction for users compared to a greedy search. Moreover, this thesis develops mechanisms to coordinate self-interested navigation service platforms’ charging requests, yielding up to 42% cost reduction from a system perspective.
