Abstract:
Barrett´s Esophagus (BE) is the main known precursor condition of Esophageal Adenocarcinoma (EAC). BE is defined by the presence of metaplasia above the normal squamous columnar junction and has mainly been attributed to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and chronic reflux esophagitis.
