The paper on hand describes the analyses and evaluation of biofilms bound to brewery filling equipment. Therefor real-time PCR based, semi quantitative detection systems on species level for selected species, described as characteristic biofilm organisms in breweries, were used and developed and the de novo biofilm forming potential was examined. On the example of Lactobacillus brevis, variating biofilm forming potential on strain level was examined and variating product spoilage potential was observed.
