The polychrome wood sculpture 50/30, a full figure sculpture from the 15th century is part of the Burrell Collection in Glasgow. The sculpture was focus of a in-depth study into materials and techniques with theaim to provide more information aiding identifying the period and location of thesculpture's manufacture. Within the investigation fibre analysis to identify the fibresof employed fabric and analysis of the microscopic wood anatomy wereperformed. The main focus of this thesis was to develop a feasible and suitablecleaning strategy as the sculpture exhibits a dark obscuring surface soiling.Therefore cleaning tests were carried out and resulting in recommendations for thefurther treatment of the sculpture.     «
