Abstract:
Individual light pulses with durations in the nanosecond range are most often employed in biomedical optoacoustic imaging. In this excitation regime, ultra-wideband acoustic responses are generated from tissues that cannot be efficiently captured with ultrasound transducers having a limited detection bandwidth.
