Among all the difficulties to acquire a simulation with good validation of an original model, the
nonlinearites effect which in some simple models or in some special cases sometimes neglected
makes great difference. So the simulation of the nonlinear dynamic system is a hard work in
the field of the computational mechanics. The whole work in this thesis focuses on using the
harmonic balance method (HBM) to solve the nonlinear system to obtain the nonlinear frequency
response function. Because of the drawback of the HBM, the computational burden sometimes
can be piled up to reach a really high level. So model order reduction technique is applied to
tackle such a problem. Some algorithms are displayed to show the whole procedure and results
with some plots are analysed and compared to observe the improvements and potential of such a
combination.
