Abstract:
Clostridium stercorarium ist ein thermophiles, saccharolytisches Bakterium, das hervorragend an den Abbau von Hemicellulose angepasst ist. Um das hemicellulolytische Potential von C. stercorarium und seiner thermostabilen Enzyme zu ermitteln, wurden 50 Glycosidhydrolasen und 8 Kohlenhydratesterasen heterolog in Escherichia coli produziert und charakterisiert. Die rekombinanten Enzyme zeigten einzeln und in Kombination Aktivität für Xylan, β-Glucan, Xyloglucan, Mannane, Arabinan und Galactan.
Translated abstract:
Clostridium stercorarium is a thermophilic, saccharolytic bacterium which is well adapted to the degradation of hemicellulose. To reveal the hemicellulolytic potential of C. stercorarium and its thermostable enzymes, 50 glycoside hydrolases and 8 carbohydrate esterases were heterologously produced in Escherichia coli and characterised. The recombinant enzymes showed activity individually and in combination for xylan, β-glucan, xyloglucan, mannans, arabinan and galactan.
