Abstract:
The thesis discusses the discrimination of signals that could mimic the decay of 76-Ge in the GERDA experiment. Micro-discharges are removed from the dataset retaining 99.918% of the ionization signals. The A/E method can reject the events generated by 42-K on the BEGe detectors. Alpha decays on semi-coaxial detectors are identified by a novel analysis of the signals' rise-time. Thus, the median sensitivity for the neutrinoless double beta decay half-life reached 10^26 years.
