The Earth's ionosphere is the ionized upper part of the Earth's atmosphere, located between about 60 km and 1000 km above the Earth. The plasmasphere is a torus of cold plasma in the inner magnetosphere, just outside the upper ionosphere, co-rotating with the Earth. The outer boundary of the plasmasphere is known as the plasmapause, which is defined by an order of magnitude drop in plasma density. During the propagation through the ionosphere and plasmasphere, L-band signals of GNSS satellit...     »
