In this work, a harmonized NO
2 retrieval algorithm is developed for GOME-2 and TROPOMI, aiming at high-quality global observations based on calibrated satellite data and state-of-the-science retrieval schemes. The retrieval algorithm is applied on measurements from GOME-2 and TROPOMI, and the resulting NO
2 data record is verified and validated using measurements from different satellite retrievals and correlative ground-based instruments. The proposed algorithm framework can be easily adapted for future ultraviolet-visible sensors and can be used as reference for future algorithm developments.
