The creation and use of reference process models is a best practice to support planning and orchestrating complex product development projects. However, in order to become useful for supporting specific projects, reference process models need to be tailored first. This step requires extensive knowledge, communication, and is hindered by the complex network character of process models. The thesis presents a graph-based approach for calculating structural metrics which provide information to conduct tailoring in collaborative workshops.
