The paper discusses the development of a parametric finite element
model for transient calculation of single span beams using standard fire curve as well as natural fire
curves. The application of various advanced fire models leads to different natural fire curves
depending on the fire loads. The effects of thermal loads on the composite joint are discussed. A
finite element model is used to calculate the resulting slip of the composite joint and the resistance
of a composite beam at different temperature-time curves with focus to the shear connections.
