Paralympic Alpine Skiing ‚Sitting Class‘ ist neben ‚Standing‘ und ‚Visually Impaired‘ eine der drei Kategorien im paralympischen Skirennsport und umfasst Athleten, die aufgrund von Rückenmarkverletzung, Erkrankung oder Amputation ihre Sportart in sitzender Position ausüben. Paralympic Alpine Skiing comprises three categories: Standing, Visually Impaired and Sitting. For the execution of the sport athletes of the sitting class (with e.g. acquired or congenital spinal cord injury or lower limb loss) use a special piece of sports equipment called sit-ski. This results in a sitting posture and is suggested to cause differences in the sport profile compared to standing skiing. Since a clear profile of the sport is lacking for athletes competing in the Sitting Class the aim of the investigation was to determine physiological and biomechanical performance determinants.     «
