With the advanced production of nanoparticles, the emission of them increases. However, it should not be disregarded that nanoparticles can also be formed naturally in the aquatic environment. Because the toxicity of nanoparticles depends on the form and size of the particles, the aim of this work was to investigate the formation and the dynamics of silver and silver sulfide nanoparticles under natural aquatic conditions in the ng/L-range and further to develop fast and cost-effecient methods for the separation and size determination of noble metal NPs.
