Abstract:
OBJECTIVE: The authors used a new surgical technique of near-total splenectomy (NTS) and report their experience. SUMMARY BACKGROUND DATA: Total splenectomy is indicated for the management of patients with hereditary spherocytosis but may be complicated by severe infections and thromboembolic events.
