Abstract:
Intoxication with local anesthetics may induce cardiac arrhythmias by interaction with ion channels. Ropivacaine has been introduced into clinical anesthesia as a safer alternative to bupivacaine, which is associated with a relatively high risk of cardiac arrhythmias.
