Delta wings have many industrial applications and constitute a reference configuration in aerodynamics. In this work, the flow field around delta wings was numerically investigated by means of Large Eddy Simulations (LES), focusing notably on two aspects: (1) leading edge bluntness effects on the primary vortex separation and (2) vortex breakdown and its control. Regarding both aspects, the numerical simulations confirmed experimental results. Moreover, a novel approach allowing for the control of vortex breakdown was developed.
