This study investigates OH* and blue broad-band emission and absorption of non-premixed hydrogen-oxygen flames at elevated pressure experimentally and numerically in a laminar jet flame. Physical models for simulating either radiation are summarized and extended. The radiation is compared to the volumetric heat release rate and found to be quantitatively uncorrelated. Studies of counterflow flame ensembles provide a correction technique by accounting for strain rate effects in optically thin turbulent flames.
