Demographic forces, globalization and technological developments will lead to an increasing competition for highly qualified workers in the years to come. In this dissertation, selected recruitment and incentive measures are examined to derive recommendations for human resource management concerning this matter. Thereby, the focus of this thesis is on the signaling value of recruiting actions, applicants’ perceptions of job and company characteristics, and the effectiveness of non-performance-related special payments.
