Abstract:
Early targeted antimicrobial therapy helps decrease costs and prevents the spread of antimicrobial resistance, including in Escherichia coli, the most frequent Gram-negative bacterium that causes sepsis. Therefore, rapid susceptibility testing represents the major prerequisite for knowledge-based successful antimicrobial treatment.
