For an adequate simulation model of acoustic problems reliable input parameters are necessary.
Physically the observation of an acoustic field depends on the frequency range and the boundary
conditions (free field, closed rooms etc.). Therefore a large variety of measurement methods exist to
determine acoustic parameters. Parameters for simulation models can be determined directly in
measurements. Alternatively results out of measurements may be used for correlation with numerical
results. The governing parameters are then determined indirectly by a model updating process.
Several measurement methods are described with respect to the adaptation in simulation.
