Title:
Thermal injury after improper use of a deodorant spray
Abstract:
Spraying of a deodorant within a distance of a few centimeters from the skin surface may cause a freeze burn in the affected area. Under laboratory conditions spraying of a thermometer (distance 5 cm) induced a decline in temperature of more than 60A degrees C within less than 12 s. This case report of a teenager underlines a possible, although little known way of causing cutaneous damage by improper use of a deodorant spray.
