Bei einer Kreuzigungsgruppe des 18. Jahrhunderts, seit 1935 im Besitz des Münchner Stadtmuseums, handelt es sich um ein aus Holz geschnitztes, kleinformatiges Bildwerk im Stil des späten Rokokos. Das Kunstwerk ist in der Literatur bisher nicht bearbeitet. Einzig bekannte Dokumente sind der Eintrag im Inventarbuch und die Karteikarte des Museums. Hauptanliegen dieser Arbeit ist es, durch detaillierte Betrachtung, kunsttechnische und naturwissenschaftliche Untersuchungen Erkenntnisse über das Gestaltungskonzept, die Herstellungstechnik und die verwendeten Materialien des Bildwerks zu gewinnen und diese zu dokumentieren. Veränderungen am Kunstwerk und die Erhaltung werden dargestellt, ein Restaurierungskonzept erarbeitet und die Gruppe photographisch dokumentiert. Die aus der Recherche gewonnenen Erkenntnisse zur kunsthistorischen Einordnung, Ikonographie und Funktion werden dargelegt. Die Arbeit dient als wissenschaftlicher Beitrag der Erforschung kleinformatiger Bildschnitzerei.     «

A crucifixion scene from the 18th century, in possession of the Munich city museum since 1935, is a carved wooden, small format artifact in the style of the late Rococo. This work of art has not previously been mentioned in the literature. The only known documents are the inventory notes and the index card of the museum. The main purpose of this thesis is to describe the design concept and to determine and document deployed techniques as well as used materials through observation and scientific analysis. It also details changes to the artifact, describes its current condition, presents a restoration concept and contains a photographic documentation. The insights about the art-historical classification, iconography and function are stated in this thesis. The work serves as a contribution to the scientific study of small format wood carvings.
