The objective of the present work is to combine the economic and environmental dimension of dairy companies in an integrated system. For this purpose, the cost and performance accounting is extended by all the necessary environmentally relevant data and an associated calculation logic. The calculation of the environmentally relevant energy and material inputs along the value-added chain and the assessment with relevant environmental impact categories is carried out with a closed quantity and process calculation based on the bottom-up principle. To ensure practical relevance, the concept was implemented in a calculation model based on a realistic demo dairy.
