The High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on the Europeanspacecraft Mars Express is the first camera on a planetarymission especially designed for photogrammetric and cartographic purposes.Since January 2004 the camera has beentaking image data from the Martian surface, characterized byhigh resolution, stereo capability and colour. These data providean enormous potential for the generation of 3D surfacemodels, colour orthophotos, topographic and thematic maps, and additional products. Within the international HRSCScience Team the members of the Photogrammetric/Cartographic WorkingGroup are concerned with systematic preparation of standard productsas well as further refinementsof the latter in order to achieve highest quality data products. This paper describes some appropriate steps for achieving suchrefined products and illustrates the current status with thehelp of various examples.
